Hamra National Park protects a compact but powerful piece of old forest, bog, and lake country west of Ljusdal. It is not a mountain spectacle; it is quieter than that, with boardwalks, moss, deadwood, and the feeling of being in forest that has been allowed to age.
The trails are short enough for a day trip, but the park is remote by Swedish standards. Bring food, fuel, and realistic expectations about distances, especially outside summer.
