Skara has no railway station of its own. The nearest is at Skövde, about 20 km east on the main line between Stockholm and Gothenburg; from there, Västtrafik buses run regularly into Skara. By car, the town is on the E20 corridor — around an hour and a half from Gothenburg, three from Stockholm.
The closest airports are Gothenburg-Landvetter (GOT) and Skövde Airport for small regional flights.
