Skara Sommarland

Skara Sommarland is the largest amusement park in Scandinavia and the reason many Swedish families know the name of the town at all. Opened in 1984 a few kilometres south-east of the centre, it combines a full water park with around twenty rides, including a wooden roller coaster called Tranan.

Open from late May to late August. Tickets are not cheap but the day is easily filled. Worth it if you are travelling with children; otherwise skippable.
