Millesgården

Sculptor Carl Milles' hilltop studio and sculpture garden

Address Carl Milles väg 2, Lidingö
Website https://www.millesgarden.se

Perched on a cliff on Lidingö island, Millesgården was the home and studio of sculptor Carl Milles and his wife, artist Olga Milles. The terraced sculpture garden is the highlight — dramatic bronze figures seem to leap and float against the backdrop of the Stockholm waterfront. Inside, galleries hold Milles' own work alongside his personal collection of medieval and Renaissance art.

The garden is beautiful in any season, but summer is best for lingering on the terraces. Allow a couple of hours. Easily reached by metro and bus from central Stockholm.
