Norra Begravningsplatsen is one of Scandinavia's largest cemeteries, spread over a broad, quiet landscape north of central Stockholm. It is worth visiting for its scale, its funerary monuments, and the number of important Swedish figures buried here.
Among the graves are Prime Minister Per Albin Hansson, actor Ingrid Bergman, humanitarian Folke Bernadotte, and writer August Strindberg. The cemetery is best treated as a slow walk rather than a quick stop.
