Mannaminne

The eccentric outdoor museum of Mannaminne, founded by the artist Anders Åberg outside Häggvik, is one of the most original things to do on the High Coast. Across a wooded site by the sea, Åberg has assembled a sprawling collection of buildings: a fishing-village reconstruction, a Greek-style chapel, an Arctic exploration hut, several painted barns, and a museum of farming machinery, music boxes, and Sámi craft.

It is part folk museum, part art installation, part personal obsession, and entirely worth the half-day to walk through. There is a café on site. Open mid-May to mid-September.
