Varberg is on the west-coast railway between Gothenburg and Malmö, with frequent regional trains. Gothenburg is usually the easiest airport approach; from there, the train ride to Varberg is short enough for a day trip.
The E6/E20 motorway passes just outside town. Cyclists also use the coast routes through Halland, especially in summer when Varberg's beaches and cold bathhouse are at their busiest.
