Västerås Aviation Museum

Västerås Flygmuseum sits alongside the city's airport and houses a collection of Swedish military and civilian aircraft from the post-war decades. The centrepiece is a collection of SAAB jets — Västerås was deeply embedded in Swedish aerospace history through its connections with the SAAB and Volvo Flygmotor industries — alongside piston-engined trainers, helicopters, and some rare Cold War-era machines.

The collection is modest in scale but well-maintained and clearly labelled. It appeals primarily to aviation enthusiasts, though the SAAB Draken and Viggen fighters are visually striking enough to interest anyone. The museum is a short drive or bike ride from the city centre.
