Tarasp Castle is the Lower Engadine's most dramatic landmark, perched on a rocky hill across the valley from Scuol. Its white walls and towers dominate the landscape in a way that feels almost theatrical, especially when seen from the train or the road through the valley.
The castle can usually be visited only on guided tours, with hours varying by season. Even if the timing does not work, the walk or bus ride over to Tarasp is worth it for the view of the castle against the mountains.
