Eggishorn is the reason Fiesch clears the travel-guide bar. The cable car brings you to a ridge just below the summit, where the Great Aletsch Glacier appears almost end to end, with the Bernese Alps and Valais peaks stacked behind it.
On a clear day this is one of Switzerland's great easy viewpoints. You can simply ride up and look, but walkers should continue onto the signed trails toward Tälligrat and Märjelensee for a longer day in the glacier country.
