Fiescheralp is the car-free terrace above Fiesch where the valley lift meets the higher cable car to Eggishorn. It is not the most romantic alpine village in Switzerland, but it is useful: from here paths, pistes, and paragliding take over.
In summer it is a starting point for walks across the Aletsch Arena, including routes toward Märjelensee and Bettmeralp. In winter it is part of the ski area, with the advantage that you can come up directly from the railway station below.
