Tour de l'Ile

Tour de l'Ile is the surviving tower of a 13th-century castle that once guarded the Rhone crossing in the middle of Geneva. It now stands amid tram lines and busy streets, which makes the contrast with its medieval stonework part of the appeal.

It is a quick stop rather than a full visit, best folded into a walk between the old town, Bel-Air, and the lakefront.
