Champéry

Champéry is the larger neighbouring village in the Val-d'Illiez and the historic centre of the area. It sits at the foot of the Dents du Midi and is the gateway to the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil. From Les Crosets you reach it by a steep mountain road or, in winter, by the lift network.

The village is more substantial than Les Crosets, with hotels, shops, restaurants, and a long main street of old chalets. It hosted the 2010 European Curling Championships and has a small palladium ice rink. The cable car from the village climbs to Croix de Culet, giving direct access to the upper ski area without the drive up to Les Crosets.
