The Dents du Midi — Teeth of the South — are the seven-summit ridge that dominates the view from Les Crosets across the valley. The highest point, the Haute Cime, reaches 3,257 metres. The shape of the ridge, sharp and serrated against the sky, is one of the iconic alpine silhouettes of the Valais.
From Les Crosets you don't climb them, you look at them: at sunrise, when they catch the first light pink before the rest of the valley wakes up, and at sunset, when the snow on their faces glows. Serious walkers can do the Tour des Dents du Midi, a five-day circuit around the massif starting from Champéry, sleeping in mountain huts.
