Lac de Chésery

Lac de Chésery is a small alpine lake at around 2,000 metres, tucked into a basin in the ridge above Les Crosets. It is one of the regular stops on the walking circuit between Champéry and the French border, and is often paired with the neighbouring Lake Vert for a half-day hike.

The lake is fed by snowmelt and stays cold all summer. Trout fishermen come up from the valley, and the surroundings — short alpine grass, scattered boulders — make it a popular picnic spot. The walk in from the top of the Mossettes chairlift takes under an hour and is easy enough for families.
