Reichenbach Falls

Famous waterfall where Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty supposedly plunged to their deaths.

Reichenbach Falls drops in several cascades above Meiringen, with the upper fall making the dramatic plunge that Conan Doyle used for Sherlock Holmes's apparent death. The funicular from Willigen runs in the warmer months, and walking paths lead to viewpoints above the spray.

Come when the water is flowing well. In winter the falls can freeze and the funicular does not run, which changes the experience completely.
