Mountain Biking — Portes du Soleil

The Portes du Soleil has developed into one of the most extensive mountain bike destinations in Europe, with lift-served trails for downhill riding and a long-distance circuit for cross-country riders. From Morgins, the lifts run in summer and the bike trails descend through forest and open meadow back to the village. The full Portes du Soleil circuit — 230 kilometres of linked trails across the Swiss-French border — can be ridden in several days with cable cars replacing the climbs.

Riders of all levels use the domain: beginners can take the lifts up and choose gentler descents, while experienced downhill riders head for the purpose-built trail centres above Morzine and Les Gets on the French side. Morgins itself is a quiet entry point, less crowded than the French resorts but with full access to the network.
