Kharkiv has an international airport (Kharkiv International Airport, code HRK) about 12 km from the city centre, connected by bus and taxi. Before the 2022 conflict, it served direct flights from several European cities; current service is limited and subject to change — check before travelling.
By rail, Kharkiv is a major junction on the eastern Ukrainian network with frequent services to Kyiv (about 4–5 hours by express), as well as connections to Poltava, Dnipro, and other cities. Kharkiv-Pasazhyrskyi (Passenger) station is in the city centre. Long-distance buses connect Kharkiv with Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities; the main bus terminal is near the railway station.
Note: All travel to and within Ukraine is subject to significant safety and practical constraints due to the ongoing conflict. Check government travel advisories before planning any trip.
