Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral

The Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral is the main Catholic landmark in Lutsk's old town, built for the Jesuits in the 17th century and later adapted through the city's changing religious life. Its pale facade and high interior give the castle quarter a more Central European note than many Ukrainian cities of similar size.

The cathedral is worth seeing for the architecture, but also for its position. It stands close to the old market and castle, so it helps explain Lutsk as a borderland city where Orthodox, Catholic, Armenian, Jewish, and Lutheran communities all left traces.
