Sofiyivka Park is Uman's essential sight and one of Ukraine's great landscape gardens. Created around the turn of the 19th century, it uses the Kamianka River valley, granite, ponds, grottoes, bridges, and classical references to build a carefully staged romantic landscape.
Give it several hours if the park is open and conditions are stable. The best visit is a slow walk rather than a checklist, especially in spring or autumn when the planting and water features carry the place.
