All Saints' Church, Briston

The medieval parish church sits at the eastern end of Briston, set back from the road on a slight rise. It is mostly thirteenth and fifteenth century in date, built of the flint and clunch typical of the region, with a square tower and a wide nave. The interior is plain and well kept; the rood screen is fragmentary but the font and several monuments to the Astleys of Melton Constable reward a slow look.

It is normally open during the day. The churchyard, with its lichen-blackened headstones, is a quiet spot for a wander.
