Dinosaur Adventure

Set in 85 acres of Norfolk woodland, Dinosaur Adventure is a family attraction built around life-size dinosaur models placed along forest trails. The models range from small to genuinely large, and the woodland setting makes them more effective than they'd be in a field — you really don't see them until you're close.

Beyond the dinosaur trail, there is a soft play area, an outdoor play zone, a Neanderthal-themed adventure course, and a miniature railway. It's pitched at children under about 12. Allow a full day if you're coming with young kids; the admission price is steep enough that you'll want to make the most of it.

The park is well signposted from the A1067 Norwich to Fakenham road, just outside Lenwade. There is a large car park on site.

A story
The park opened in 1994 on a former part of the Great Witchingham estate, which had been home to a wildlife park since the 1960s. The woodland setting was chosen deliberately — among the trees, the life-size dinosaur models have a way of appearing suddenly that tends to produce genuine startlement rather than just entertainment.
