Lenwade

Norfolk hamlet near Great Witchingham, known for Dinosaur Adventure and River Wensum walks

Lenwade is a hamlet in central Norfolk, around 12 miles north-west of Norwich on the road to Fakenham. It lies close to Great Witchingham, a larger village that is the centre of the civil parish; the two are often confused.

The main draw for families is Dinosaur Adventure, a woodland park with life-size dinosaur models set on 85 acres of forest just outside the village, well signposted from the A1067. For walkers and wildlife watchers, Sparham Pools nature reserve is a few kilometres west, and the River Wensum offers pleasant bankside walking through chalk-stream countryside.

Bus services run through Lenwade on the Norwich to Fakenham and Wells-next-the-Sea route. There is no railway station. Norwich is the practical base for the area.
