Peterborough is one of eastern England's easiest cities to reach by rail. Fast trains link it with London King's Cross, Leeds, York, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Ely, Leicester, and Birmingham, making it a useful interchange as well as a destination.
The A1(M) passes west of the city, with routes east into the Fens and west toward Stamford. If you are only visiting the cathedral quarter, arrive by train; the station is within walking distance of the centre.
