Nene Park

Nene Park is Peterborough's big outdoor release valve, a country park stretching west of the city along lakes, meadows, and the River Nene. Ferry Meadows is the best-known part, with waterside paths, cycling, birdlife, and plenty of space for a slower afternoon.

It is not a wilderness escape, but it is very useful if you are travelling with children or want a break from the centre. The heritage railway can make the journey part of the fun when services are running.
