St Peter's Church

Wolferton's parish church of St Peter is a modest medieval building, much restored in the nineteenth century when royal patronage from Sandringham led to extensive embellishment. Inside there is an unusual brass eagle lectern and a number of memorials to estate workers.

The churchyard is quietly atmospheric, particularly in early summer when the wildflowers are out, and it gives a good sense of the lost village — Wolferton was once larger than it is today, and many of the gravestones record families long gone from the place.
