High Raise

Central Lakeland fell behind the Langdale Pikes

High Raise may be the most central fell in the Lake District, standing at 2,500 feet behind the more dramatic Langdale Pikes. The familiar profile of Pike o' Stickle and Harrison Stickle, seen across Windermere, is the first glimpse of the high hills for visitors coming in from the south. The best approach to High Raise is over these more exciting hills, perhaps by way of the popular and sensational scramble up Jack's Rake on Pavey Ark.
