☰Lingmoor Fell

Less striking and less frequented than the Langdale Pikes opposite, Lingmoor Fell forms the southern side of Langdale. The approach from the west end of the ridge leads onto Side Pike, which is an unexpected snare for the uninitiated -- direct continuation along the ridge involves the descent of a near vertical cliff, so the wise walker will backtrack and skirt the south side. The ridge gives delightful views into both Langdale and Little Langdale.
