Pike o' Blisco (705 m) is one of the most satisfying shorter fell walks in the Lake District. You can tackle it as a standalone half-day outing from the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park, or fold it into a longer and truly magnificent circuit around the head of Great Langdale taking in Crinkle Crags, Bowfell, and perhaps Rossett Pike and the Langdale Pikes as well.
The path above Brown Gill gives superb views of the Langdale Pikes on the approach, and the rocky summit opens up a panorama that takes in Bowfell, one of Lakeland's finest mountains, the Coniston fells, and on a clear day the Scafell range. The final scramble to the top is just steep enough to feel earned without being intimidating. Come on a weekday and you may well have the summit to yourself.
