James Lowe's restaurant in the Tea Building is one of the definitive expressions of modern British cooking — hyper-seasonal, ingredient-led, with a sourcing philosophy that means the menu changes completely from week to week. Lunch is a set menu of around four courses at excellent value; dinner is a longer tasting menu.
The room is calm and considered without being austere. The wine list is adventurous in the way that very confident wine lists can be — many bottles you will not have heard of, all chosen carefully. Lowe started at St. John and the same commitment to provenance and simplicity is evident.
