East London's creative heartland, centred on the triangle of Shoreditch High Street, Brick Lane, and Old Street. The streets here are dense with street art — Banksy has left his mark, but the whole area is an ever-changing outdoor gallery. Brick Lane is the hub of London's Bangladeshi community and its curry houses; the surrounding streets on Sunday mornings fill with a vast street market. Come at the weekend for the full effect; weekday evenings are also lively, with a dense cluster of bars and restaurants.
