Basildon Park is a restored Georgian country house set in parkland above the Thames Valley. Its interiors, art, and sweeping grounds make it one of the stronger heritage outings within easy reach of Reading.
The house is the anchor, but the estate walks are a major part of the visit, especially in good weather. It is outside Reading proper, so plan transport and check National Trust opening times before setting out.
