Avebury Manor is a Grade I listed Tudor manor house that sits just inside the stone circle, its garden walls built from stones probably taken from the henge itself. The house dates from the early 16th century and was substantially rebuilt in later periods; its interior has been recreated by the BBC and National Trust to show different eras of the manor's life — Tudor, Queen Anne, Georgian, Edwardian — through fully furnished rooms.
The garden is also worth a look, with formal hedging and some well-established topiary. Combined tickets with the Alexander Keiller Museum next door are available. The manor is operated by the National Trust and charges admission.
