Set in 28 acres of wooded hillside above the village, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park combines a small zoo with a Jurassic-themed walk through animatronic dinosaurs. It is a pure family attraction — lemurs, meerkats, snow leopards and a few big cats are the headline animals — but the unusual selling point is the steep terraced layout that gives unexpected views down the wooded combe to the sea.
The dinosaur trail winds through indigenous woodland with roars and motion-triggered effects; younger children love it, teenagers tend to roll their eyes. There is a small café on site, a sea-eagle flying display in season, and enough to occupy half a day in mixed weather.
