Most visitors arrive on the MS Oldenburg from Bideford or Ilfracombe between spring and autumn. The sailing takes a little over two hours, and the timetable depends on tides and weather, so check the return time before wandering too far.
In winter, access is usually by helicopter from Hartland Point. Private boats can land, but Lundy is exposed water; this is not a casual hop in poor conditions.
