Kenidjack Valley

Kenidjack Valley (sometimes called Nancherrow Valley) runs from the moorland above St Just down to the sea at Tregeseal Cove, cutting through what was once a dense concentration of tin and copper mining activity. The valley sides are littered with the remains of count houses, dressing floors, and water wheels from mines that operated here from the 18th to the early 20th century.

The valley is now a Cornwall Wildlife Trust nature reserve, managed for its mosaic of wet valley, scrub, and mine waste habitats. The combination of industrial archaeology and wildlife makes it one of the more interesting short walks from St Just. The path through the valley is rough in places and often muddy. It connects to the coast path at the northern end, giving access to the stretch of cliff between St Just and Pendeen — some of the most remote-feeling coast on the peninsula.
