Watchet is small and the choice is limited but reliable. The Pebbles Tavern on Market Street is the best pub in the centre — a small free house with a serious cider list (more than thirty West Country ciders, several local to Exmoor) and decent pub food. The Esplanade Club on the seafront does a no-frills carvery and good views of the harbour.
For fish and chips, Captain's Galley on the quay is the local choice. The Star Inn, just above the harbour on Mill Lane, has the most ambitious dinner menu in town and a sheltered terrace.
