Barle Valley Walk

The Two Moors Way long-distance path follows the River Barle through one of the loveliest river valleys in southern England, with Tarr Steps as its centrepiece. A circular walk from Winsford via the Barle, Tarr Steps, and back across the open hill takes around four hours.

The valley is wooded with sessile oak, alder, and rowan, and the river runs clear and brown over a stony bed. Otters are present and occasionally seen at dawn; the bird life is good year-round.
