Stratford-upon-Avon has its own railway station with services from Birmingham Snow Hill (approximately 1 hour) and London Marylebone (approximately 2 hours, with a change at Leamington Spa or Birmingham). Chiltern Railways operates the main London service; direct trains are faster but less frequent.
By car, Stratford is about 90 miles from London (A40/M40), about 25 miles from Birmingham (A435/A46), and about 8 miles from Warwick on the A46. Parking in the town centre is available but limited; the main car parks near the RST fill early on busy summer days.
By coach, National Express operates services from London Victoria and Birmingham. The journey from London takes around 2.5 to 3 hours depending on stops.
The town is compact enough to see entirely on foot once you arrive. Bicycles can be hired for the trip to Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Shottery.
