The Dales Way passes through Upper Wharfedale on its long route from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere. Around Buckden it follows the valley through Grassington, Kettlewell, Starbotton, and the upper dale before crossing the moors west.
You do not need to walk the whole trail for it to matter here. A short section gives an easy, well-marked taste of the river valley without committing to a summit day.
