Castle Coole

Grand 18th-century neo-classical mansion set in wooded parkland.

Castle Coole is a polished contrast to Enniskillen Castle: an 18th-century mansion built to impress, with a restrained neo-classical front and a wooded estate around it. The house is best seen on a guided tour, where the upstairs show rooms and below-stairs service spaces explain the whole machine of aristocratic life.

Even if you skip the interior, the parkland makes a good easy walk close to town.
