Scolty Hill

Wooded hill above Banchory with a tower monument and wide views over Deeside.

Scolty Hill is Banchory's best quick climb. Forest tracks rise from the car park to the General Burnett monument on the summit, where the view opens across the Dee valley and the Aberdeenshire hills.

It is steep enough to feel like a real walk but short enough to fit around a castle visit or lunch in town. Wear shoes that can handle mud after rain.
