Glen Moray is Elgin's own distillery, a 10-minute walk east of the town centre on Bruceland Road. It has been producing Speyside single malt since 1897, operating out of a converted Victorian brewery. The whisky is mild, approachable, and often finished in wine casks — claret, sherry, Chardonnay — which makes it a good introduction to the style for those new to single malt. Tours run daily and include a dram; the distillery shop is well-stocked with expressions not widely available elsewhere. Bruceland Rd, Elgin.
