Lochbuie Stone Circle

Lochbuie Stone Circle sits in a field below Ben Buie, small but unusually complete. Nine stones form a near-perfect ring, with a separate outlying stone nearby, and the flat inward faces give the circle a clear, deliberate focus.

There are grander prehistoric sites in Scotland, but few feel as private. Follow the marked route across the field, close gates behind you, and expect wet ground. The reward is silence, hills, and a stone circle that still feels rooted in its own landscape rather than presented as an exhibit.
