Moy Castle

Moy Castle is a compact 15th-century tower house set on a low rock by the head of Loch Buie. It was built by Hector MacLean, founder of the MacLaines of Lochbuie, and remained the clan stronghold until Lochbuie House replaced it in the 18th century.

You cannot treat it like an open castle attraction; the value is in the setting. The tower, the loch, the grazing cattle, and the backdrop of Ben Buie say more about Hebridean power and isolation than a room-by-room tour would.
