The Up Helly Aa Exhibition opens a small window onto Lerwick's famous fire festival. In summer you can see the longship under construction, along with Jarl Squad costumes, photographs, and film from past processions.
It is not the same as being here on the last Tuesday in January, when the torches come out and the galley burns. But it helps explain why that winter ritual has become one of Shetland's defining images.
