Bonnington Pavilion

Ruined 18th-century viewing pavilion above Corra Linn in the Falls of Clyde gorge.

Bonnington Pavilion is a ruined 1708 viewpoint above Corra Linn. It was built for controlled, theatrical views of the falls, with mirrors once used to frame the water for visitors.

The ruin is a small stop, but it adds a good period detail to the walk. Romantic-era visitors, including Walter Scott and William Wordsworth, came this way for the same river drama.
