Tain Golf Club is an old Highland links laid out by Old Tom Morris in 1890. It is less famous than nearby Royal Dornoch, which is part of the appeal: visiting golfers get firth views, gorse, heather, and a proper northern course without quite the same pressure.
The clubhouse is a short walk from Tain station, so it is unusually easy for a Highland course if you are travelling by train. Non-golfers may still enjoy the walk out toward the links for the open views over the Dornoch Firth.
