Holborn Head is Thurso's best nearby walk, starting from Scrabster and looping out over rough Caithness cliffs. The route passes Holborn Head Lighthouse, sea stacks, blowholes, and open views across the Pentland Firth towards Dunnet Head and Orkney.
It is short enough for a spare morning or afternoon, but it is still proper exposed coast. Go in calm weather, keep away from cliff edges, and expect wind even when the town feels mild.
