Wolfburn Distillery gives Thurso a whisky stop of its own. The modern distillery revived a local name and makes single malt on the western edge of town, close enough to combine with the Scrabster and Holborn Head side of a visit.
Tours, when available, are more about seeing a working production space than walking through a glossy visitor centre. Book ahead and check current arrangements before turning up, especially outside the main travel season.
